About

We are a student-run group composed of Math Team leaders throughout high schools in Gwinnett County Public Schools.

We've recently realized that the prevalence and presence of Competitive Mathematics in Gwinnett had been declining over the recent years.

Due to this, we were prompted to start Gwinnett Math Club that could serve as a platform for collaboration, collective learning, and support throughout Math Teams in Gwinnett.

As the coalition of Math Teams of Gwinnett high schools, our main goal is to offer a county-wide collaborative environment for interested students to learn advanced competitive mathematics topics.

We will work in collaboration with students from a variety of schools to establish and gain a wider interest in competitive mathematics.

Below, you can find our Mission statement and the Four Pillars of our plan of action.

Mission/Services

"The organization shall work in collaboration with students from other schools to gain a wider interest in competitive mathematics and establish new math teams at those schools. It shall provide resources, guidance, and a community to support the developing interest in competitive mathematics."

1. Resources

We will provide accessible lists of Math Competition preparation resources, like past tests and formula sheets, to grow the mathematical potential of Gwinnett Students.

We will also be organizing seminars and study sessions virtually/in-person for additional preparation and help with competition math topics.

Furthermore, we will also be releasing presentation material that Math Teams may use at their own leisure during meetings.

We will help, establish and support developing Math Teams across Gwinnett County by facilitating the growth and foster a sense of community and inclusivity through math.

This includes providing quality teaching materials, general counsel, and other guidance to the blossoming Math Teams.

Currently, we are in the process of starting competitive Math Teams at Seckinger High School and Grayson High School, and plan to establish more Math Teams in the near future.

2. Establishment

3. Competitions

We will be promoting for greater participation in competitions and steady growth in performance through advertising and preparation for those competitions.

We will enable details and logistics of upcoming math competitions to be immediately accessible to students and Math Team leaders through social media, website, etc.

For prestigious competitions hosted by universities that are hosted in-person, Gwinnett Math Club will serve as the regional organization to handle collective registration for interested students.

We hope that through this coalition of Math Teams, we will be able to seamlessly organize collaborations between various schools, for example, a joint-competition.

We will also be hosting seminars, mock tests for major competitions like the AMC, speaker series with mathematics professionals, and more.

More importantly, we look to host the very first in-person Gwinnett Math Competition later this year, where Gwinnett students will compete and participate in several math-related activities.
